"Every person involved in this mission shares one belief: Service is not an act — it is a responsibility."
Driven by the core philosophy that "Service to humanity is service to God," Dr. Malavalli Sundareshan and Dr. Kanakalatha Sundareshan have championed global philanthropy and community upliftment since 1988.
Both distinguished medical professionals, the founders practiced extensively across India, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom before returning to India permanently in 2013.
Over nearly four decades, the doctors have actively supported a wide array of healthcare, educational, and humanitarian initiatives. Their legacy includes providing housing and mentorship to visiting Indian students in the UK, conducting workshops at Mysore University, and partnering with prominent organizations:
To institutionalize their lifelong mission, they established the Chaitanya Public Charitable Trust (fully compliant with Sections 12B and 80G of the Income Tax Act). Alongside a talented, multi-disciplinary board of dedicated young professional trustees, Dr. Sundar and Dr. Kanaka continue to build a transparent, lasting ecosystem of service for underserved communities.

"Good governance is not bureaucracy — it is care, made systematic. We exist to protect the people this Trust serves."
These are the people who show up — early mornings, long field days, and quiet evenings of paperwork — driven by nothing but the desire to make a difference. Their contribution is immeasurable.
Priya has been volunteering with the Trust for over six years, working directly with students and families in rural areas to ensure children remain enrolled in school. A trained social worker by background, she conducts home visits, facilitates parent workshops, and mentors adolescent girls through the Trust's empowerment circles. Her warmth and persistence have made her a trusted figure in communities that were once wary of outside intervention.
A final-year medical student when he first joined a Trust health camp, Karthik is now a practising doctor who continues to give his weekends to organising free medical screenings in underserved neighbourhoods. He coordinates with specialist doctors, pharmaceutical donors, and local panchayat offices to run quarterly camps that serve hundreds of patients who would otherwise go undiagnosed. His commitment exemplifies the spirit the Trust was founded on.
"We don't volunteer because we have time to spare. We volunteer because this work is the most important thing we do."
